I was on the swing just enjoying the clear blue skies! Calming environment, great for going on a walk or run, nice playground and swings for the kids or adults lol, nice shade bench areas as well. Nearby to stores like foodlion for drinks or snacks!

Nice paved path to walk the dogs on. It felt safe and close to a nice neighborhood. At first I thought the walking paths were very short, but it was much longer than I anticipated (and I couldn’t even tell you where the end was).

Hidden Gem in Concord: Dorton Park Delivers Fun for All Ages My wife and I, residents of Harrisburg, North Carolina, stumbled upon Dorton Park while heading to Afton Ridge for shopping—and what a delightful surprise it was! Tucked behind a charming neighborhood, this recently renovated park (reopened March 25, 2025, after a $60 million bond-funded overhaul) is a haven for outdoor lovers. Sports enthusiasts will love the resurfaced tennis courts (one with pickleball lines), a multi-purpose field for football or soccer, and an 18-hole disc golf course (expanded from 9 holes). - Family-Friendly Facilities: We were impressed by the six clean, family-style restrooms—each a private room—an

This park has been newly renovated with swings, a picnic area, pickleball courts, and new bridges over the walking trails. They also installed a siac golf course which is small but challenging enough.

This is a beautiful park with two large, well kept fields and bleachers. This is the perfect spot for toddlers as it's one of the few parks around with a completely enclosed playground for little ones. The other playground is great for elementary aged kids. The trails vary between sidewalk and dirt, making it a smooth surface for strollers. There are two covered areas with numerous picnic tables and traahcans, so bring your lunch!
